Individuals

Unicare offers Health Products for individuals, families and sole proprietors under the age of 65 and not eligible for Medicare. UniCare offers major medical health insurance across the country, and emphasizes quality care, freedom of choice, and an extensive network of physicians, hospitals, and other health care providers.

PPO Plans for Individuals & Families
UniCare offers a selection of FIT health plans with various annual deductibles and price points, and the UniCare Saver Plan, all to meet your coverage needs and budget. PPO plans offer the freedom to choose your health care provider. You also have access to care at discounted fees by using independently contracted doctors and medical facilities that participate in UniCare’s network.

High-Deductible (HSA-Compatible) Plans 
A Health Savings Account (HSA) is a savings account that allows eligible individuals to save money that can be used to pay for qualified medical expenses on a tax-free basis.  All HSA-compatible health insurance plans are required to meet certain federally mandated deductible and out-of-pocket requirements. 

Short-Term Plans 
In today’s market, more people than ever need short-term medical coverage. UniCare offers Short-Term PPO Plans for individuals and families. A Short-Term Plan provides coverage for a minimum of 30 days and up to a maximum of 180 days based on a per-member, per-day rate.

Medicare Plans

Medicare is the nation’s largest health insurance program, covering 40 million Americans. It was designed to provide high-quality health care to people 65 and over, as well as to others with disabilities.

Unicare offers Medicare Supplemental plans. A Medicare Supplement Plan is a health benefit coverage plan that complements (or supplements) your regular Medicare coverage. 

Although Medicare pays for many health care services and supplies, it doesn’t pay for all of them. A Medicare Supplement Plan will help pay for those costs which could include deductibles, coinsurance and copayments when visiting your doctor. A UniCare Medicare Supplemental Plan is also a good idea if you prefer to keep your own doctor and hospital and choose your own specialist and other health care provider.

Free telephonic counseling and a 24-hour Nurse Helpline established for impacted members 

NDIANAPOLIS – September 12, 2008 – UniCare today announced revised medical and pharmacy guidelines to help members who are directly impacted by Hurricane Ike. In addition, a 24-hour nurse helpline - 1-866-417-7107 - has been established to assist members.

The revised guidelines will help members who are impacted by hurricane Ike access needed medical care and prescription drugs. 

Members affected by the hurricane should seek medical assistance wherever it is available and have their medications refilled at any pharmacy or shipped to them at an alternative address.(Continue Reading)
